It is known that the contract with Adani regarding electricity is against the interest of the country and this writ has been filed by M. Abdul Qayyum. The writ will be heard by a bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury.
Earlier on November 6, Supreme Court lawyer Barrister M Qayyum had sent a legal notice to the government seeking cancellation of all contracts with Adani regarding electricity. Legal notices seek immediate review of unfair unilateral contracts or annulment altogether.
At that time, a review committee consisting of energy and legal experts was also called to give a detailed report. The chairman of PDB and the secretary of the energy ministry were given three days to respond to the legal notice.
