During the hearing in the court, the fact that an innocent citizen is standing inside the iron cage is very humiliating, said Nobel-winning economist Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He said, ‘Let’s all raise a little voice in this matter, so that the matter is reviewed. Why can it be like this in a civilized country! Why should a citizen stand like an animal in a cage during a court hearing? Where the trial has not yet begun, where there is no chance of conviction. I raised the question why an innocent citizen should be kept in a cage.
He raised this question while talking to the media persons in the premises of Special Judge Court-4 of Dhaka today on Wednesday.
Dr. Yunus said, ‘I have raised the question before, I am raising it again for everyone. Not my subject, any defendant; Who is going to do one against, take him to the cage. As far as I know, the accused is innocent until proven guilty. For an innocent citizen to have to stand inside an iron cage during a court hearing is very humiliating to me. It seemed like a very difficult task.’
Nobel laureate economist Dr. Muhammad Yunus also said, ‘I am under a lot of harassment. That’s part of it, it will continue.’
‘I was in the cage all the time today, we were all together. Although I was told that you stay. I said, everyone is going, I am also staying with them. I was inside the cage all the time.’ Dr. added. Muhammad Yunus.
