BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir asked who created former army chief Aziz Ahmed and former police chief Benazir Ahmed. He said, not one or two, there are countless such incidents, you will see that there is nothing but corruption in them.
The Secretary General of BNP gave a speech at a discussion meeting today on Tuesday afternoon. National Freedom Fighters Party organized this meeting on the occasion of the 43rd martyrdom anniversary of late President Ziaur Rahman in the auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity office.
Regarding the allegations against Aziz Ahmed and Benazir Ahmed, BNP Secretary General said, ‘Today former army chief Aziz (Aziz Ahmed) is being talked about…Aziz who created him, who created him? Where was Aziz located, where was he brought. Who created Benazir Ahmed today? His history of thousands of loots is coming out.’
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘Not one or two, there are numerous such incidents, you will see that they have nothing but corruption. Not only in Dhaka, but those of you who live in Mofsal, the situation is the same everywhere. The so-called MPs in their so-called elections are burdened with sunk money.’
‘it’s time’
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘They have rotted…smelling…absolutely stinking. No matter how much they say, whatever they say, in fact they do not exist. One by one is appearing everywhere.’ He also said, ‘I say, it’s time…I’ve done a lot of wandering, a lot. Now please stop wandering around and get a proper burial…you decide to think about how people will remember you.’
The Secretary General of BNP said, ‘We think, to save this country, we have to move forward with new thinking. In that new way of thinking, you must take this country’s people, the world, the geopolitics—everything forward—in a concrete way.’
‘The ongoing movement will intensify’
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir pointed out that “the ongoing movement will not only continue, but will become more intense.” He said, ‘I know, it is dangerous for us to talk here, it is dangerous to walk here, it is also dangerous to protest here… all are dangerous. We have to overcome this danger and stand bravely.’
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘We have come this far under the leadership of Tarek Rahman, the acting chairman of our leader party, who is leading us from abroad. One thing, we all see so much persecution, lawsuits could not pull even one of our people. got it could not There are always one or two. Oh nothing…that one (Shah Jahan Omar)…can’t find it anymore. So we have nothing to lose.’
Mirza Fakhrul urged the youth to come forward and said, ‘We are old… can we hold rifles, can we stand on the streets and fight like this… we can’t. We need young generation. When we were at war in 1971, all of us (freedom fighters) were young, all of us were young…there was nothing in our minds except to liberate the country…it is the only goal. No matter who or what, everyone was united regardless of party.’ He also said, ‘Today that time has come. Then I fought for the freedom of the country, and now this fight is to save the country. We must go down in this fight…if we lose this fight, we will be wiped out.’
