Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, an opportunistic miscreant group is attacking and setting fire to government buildings, opponents’ houses and religious institutions of minorities in various places. Therefore, we call upon the nation, wherever it sees mischief, to prevent it immediately.
He said this at a press conference at the party’s central office in the capital’s Moghbazar on Tuesday (August 6) afternoon.
Jamaat Amir said, ‘Yesterday we made a call, today we will call the nation again, wherever you see mischief, they must be prevented immediately. We promise, we are ready to give full cooperation to the existing administration in this regard.’

He demanded that those who committed the looting and arson be identified and prosecuted.
Ameer Jamaat said that in this country of 56,000 square miles, there is no loophole where any miscreant can cause any accident, it is not possible to prevent this by two organizations. Here Apamar people have to fulfill their spontaneous duty. Then surely the miscreants will not show this audacity. Those who have already committed these acts must be brought under the law. It would not be right to discount them.
