Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury said, there can be a question whether there is any deep conspiracy behind the anti-quota movement.
He said, “The anti-quota movement is under trial in the Supreme Court and before it is resolved, suddenly I came down to the streets and blocked all the roads. Naturally, we may have a question whether there is any deep conspiracy behind it.”
The education minister said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the felicitation and scholarship ceremony of the students who obtained GPA-5 in SSC and HSC examinations among the members of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) today.
Regarding the ongoing anti-quota movement, Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury said, we must respect the rule of law. As this is still a matter pending before the High Court and any definite verdict in this regard will be given by our Supreme Court, commenting on it would be tantamount to contempt of court. He mentioned that the executive department can look into the matter after the court verdict.
Under the chairmanship of DRU President Syed Shukur Ali Shubo, South Bengal Agriculture Bank (SBAC) PLC’s AZM Shafiuddin Shamim and Deputy Managing Director (ongoing duty) Md. Nurul Azim. DRU general secretary Mohi Uddin delivered the welcome speech on the occasion, while Tanveer Ahmed, welfare secretary of the organization moderated.
