After the hearing, the court granted them a five-day remand.
Police produced Salman F Rahman and Anisul Haque in the court in the case of shooting Suman Sikder (31) in front of Fuji Tower in Badda during the anti-discrimination student movement at 7 am on Thursday.
After that, the investigation officer applied to take them on 10-day remand for proper investigation of the case. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nurul Huda Chowdhury granted their five-day remand.
In the remand application, investigating officer Badda police station SI Rezaul Alam mentioned that Salman F Rahman, accused No. 4 and 5 of the Anisul Haque case. They are aware of the violent incident described in the statement, including the killing of the victim Md Suman Sikdar (31). In addition, they have given orders to shoot and kill people along with inciting the other defendants who were prominent in the anti-discrimination student movement, according to reliable sources.
Earlier on August 13, Salman F Rahman and Anisul Haque were arrested from Sadarghat area of the capital while fleeing by water. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid granted a 10-day remand to both of them in the case of murdering shop employee Shahjahan Ali (24) in Newmarket area on Wednesday (August 14).
After the first round of remand, the police produced them in court on August 24. After that, in two separate cases of Newmarket police station, an application was made to take 10 days and 20 days remand. After the hearing, the judge granted five days and 10 days remand in two cases.
Meanwhile, during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 19, the accused shot and killed Md. Suman Sikdar (31) on the north side of Badda Fuji Tower on Pragtismarani road. In this incident, his mother Masuma filed a murder case. 179 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were accused in the case.
