Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that no one will be given an opportunity to create terror and violence by capitalizing on the complete shutdown program announced by the quota agitating students.
He said that any action that hinders the safety of people’s lives and property will not be tolerated. Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League and all allied organizations will be on the streets to build strong resistance against any kind of terrorist activities along with people from all walks of life.
He said these things in a statement signed by Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua on Wednesday night.
Awami League General Secretary said, successful statesman Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina in her address to the nation today (Wednesday) evening urged everyone to be patient and tolerant. At the same time, he urged the students to be patient till the verdict of the High Court is announced. He said optimistically, I believe, our student society will get justice from the high court. They need not be disappointed.
He said that Prime Minister Komalmati has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the unintended loss of life due to the terror and anarchic situation created by the BNP-Jamaat mischief by capitalizing on the students’ movement. He also announced the formation of a judicial investigation committee against terrorism and violence. When the general students and the people of the country were reassured by this speech of the Prime Minister, the complete shutdown program was announced and we can see that the BNP-Jamaat evil forces are capitalizing on this program to create terror and anarchy across the country.
Obaidul Quader said that since the beginning, the terrorist cadres of the Chhatra Dal and Shibir have been trying to divert the students’ movement to different sectors. Now they have indulged in a deep conspiracy to destabilize the situation through mass terror and anarchy.
A few fresh lives have already been lost as a result of BNP-Jamaat’s destructive apoliticism by capitalizing on the student movement.
The Bridge Minister said, I am calling on all patriotic citizens to be aware and alert against the terrorist activities of BNP-Jamaat evil forces. We request the law enforcement agencies to take strict legal action against any misbehavior of this terrorist group. At the same time, I am giving organizational instructions to Awami League leaders, workers and supporters at all levels to provide cooperation in the security of people’s lives and property from the streets.
