Two people have died from dengue, a disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, in the last 24 hours. In addition, 148 more people have been hospitalized due to dengue across the country during this period.
This information was provided in a report sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday evening.
So far this year, 101,160 people have been hospitalized due to dengue. Of these, 572 have died. The number of deaths is higher among women.
The report said that in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning, 43 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City. Apart from this (excluding City Corporation), 27 people have been admitted in Chittagong Division, 26 in Dhaka Division, 20 in Khulna Division, 14 in Barisal Division, 14 in Rajshahi Division and 4 in Mymensingh Division.
It is worth noting that 1,705 people died of dengue last year. 321,179 people were infected with dengue.
