Poet and political analyst Farhad Mazhar said that it is our moral responsibility to sustain the interim government. He said this while addressing the chief guest at the seminar titled ‘New Bangladesh: Establishing a non-discriminatory welfare state’ organized by Professor K Ali Foundation at Maulana Akram Khan Hall of the National Press Club on Saturday (September 14).
Farhad Mazhar said, ‘There will be two elections in the coming days. One is the Constituent Assembly elections, where we can form a new state. Another is the government election. Elections to form the state first, then the government elections will come. This roadmap is given by the people. If this roadmap is not followed, then I will be in dire danger.’
Farhad Mazhar also said, ‘Whenever we think about state formation, we also think about political parties. We need political parties. We cannot do without political parties. But the political parties want, he will go to power and loot for 15 years. It is not the work of political parties. In the coming days we will make Bangladesh beautiful; Such a constructive proposal needs to be given by the political parties. But they are not making any recommendations.’
Farhad Mazhar said about the change in the constitution and the president, ‘There has been such a big coup today, we gave so much blood – but at the end of the day we got Sheikh Hasina’s constitution. How this constitution still exists! Those selected as advisers are essentially advisers to the President. And this president has been appointed by Sheikh Hasina. Advisers said while taking oath, we will preserve the constitution. But this constitution is Sheikh Hasina’s constitution.
