Trump may pour water on China’s economic recovery efforts

China is mulling announcing new measures to revive its sluggish economy as Donald Trump looks to run for a second term as US president.

This time, Mr. won the election in the context. Trump, there, had promised to impose tariffs of up to 60 percent on goods made in China.

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s aim was to make China a technological superpower. But Donald Trump’s victory now seems to put a damper on that plan. It is clear that his victory will further strain relations between the world’s two largest economic powers.

Falling property prices, rising government debt and unemployment, and lower consumption have slowed China’s economic growth. Basically, it has been since the coronavirus pandemic.

Therefore, the latest announcement by China’s National Parliament Standing Committee (NPC) is now all the more important. The NPC or National People’s Congress is China’s legislative executive body.
