Three Israelis were killed by gunmen at a border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that the attacker arrived at the Allenby Bridge crossing in a truck from the Jordanian city of Al-Karameh on Sunday morning. He then fired at the border guards.
Israeli security forces shot and killed the gunman, the statement said. They checked whether there was any explosive in the truck.
Jordan said it was investigating the incident. The incident took place in an area controlled by Israel, where Jordanian trucks unload goods. After this incident, the crossing was closed from both directions.
Israeli media said the dead were 61-year-old Yohanan Shori, 65-year-old Yuri Birnbaum and Adrian Marcelo Podzamzar, whose age was not known.
The three men killed were security personnel at the border crossing but were not military officers.
