Israel’s opposition leader Yair Lapid has called for recognition of Palestine. He urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take action in this regard. He made this claim in response to the announcement of recognition of Palestine by three European countries, Norway, Ireland and Spain, on Wednesday (May 22).
Anadolu Agency reports that Yesh Atid party leader Yar Lapid. He has been critical of Netanyahu since the start of the Gaza war last year.
On Wednesday, he said, Netanyahu should announce that he is willing to accept Palestine as a state under certain conditions and certain guarantees. (One of the conditions is) that the new state joins the fight against terrorism.
However, Lapid did not elaborate at the press conference on the terms or guarantees or the nature of the cooperation from the proposed Palestinian state.
