The anti-discrimination student movement is holding a week-long ‘Resistance Week’ program with four-point demands. As a part of this series of programs today at 4:30 pm at Shahbagh, a procession, candle lighting and prayer program has been organized from Shahbagh towards Rapa Plaza in memory of the martyrs.
This information was informed in a circular sent by Abu Bakr Majumder, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement, on Tuesday (August 13).
According to the notification, a week-long ‘Resistance Week’ is going to start from Wednesday (August 14) under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement on four-point demands.
As part of this programme, a ‘Roadmarch’ program will be held today in the direction of the points where our national heroes were martyred in the anti-discrimination movement across the country.
The statement also said, by gathering at the respective places during the road march, we will ‘observe a minute of silence and offer prayers and supplications in memory of the martyrs. The time and place has been fixed at 3 pm at the foot of Raju Sculpture of TSC.
The four-point demands of the anti-discrimination student movement are-
1. A special tribunal must be set up to ensure speedy trial of the murders committed by the fascist Hasina and her party and government using the fascist structure.
2. The Awami League and its allies in the Grand Alliance on the minorities in an attempt to debunk the mass uprising through planned killings, robberies and looting should bring the participants to justice and accept the legitimate demands of the minorities.
3. Those in the administration and judiciary who have legitimized the attacks, prosecutions, and killings of the student uprisings and are repeatedly trying to re-establish the fascist regime must be removed and brought to justice as soon as possible and their appointments to the new government canceled.
4. Equality of opportunity should be ensured as soon as possible for those who have been discriminated against in the administration and judiciary.
