In the domestic market, the price of diesel per liter is decreasing by 1 25 paisa and the price of petrol and octane is decreasing by 6 rupees.
The new price will be effective from 12:00 pm on Saturday (August 31), said Fawzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Interim Government on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
He said this to reporters before inspecting the Rupsa 800 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant project under construction at Khalishpur in Khulna at around 11 am on Sunday.
He said, at the consumer level, the price of diesel and kerosene has been reduced from Tk 106.75 per liter to Tk 1.25, diesel to Tk 105.50 and kerosene to Tk 105.50. At the same time, the price of petrol has been reduced from 127 taka 6 to 121 taka and the price of octane has been reduced from 131 taka 6 to 125 taka.
Earlier, on August 28, in an exchange meeting with representatives of organizations and departments under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources at Petrobangla, Fawzul Kabir Khan said, ‘Keeping in mind that the people of the country can buy oil at a low price, it is being considered to determine the price of oil in line with the international market. The new fuel oil price list will be published on September 1.
