Light to moderate rain/thundershowers may occur in eight parts of the country. At the same time, moderate heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some places, said the Meteorological Department. The Meteorological Department has given this information in the weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 6 pm on Tuesday.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain/thunder with gusty winds may occur temporarily in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Along with this, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. As a result, day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.
Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said at around 10:30 am on Wednesday, it has been raining in coastal areas especially Khulna, Bagerhat, Patuakhali, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar since this morning. And heavy rains may occur in Mymensingh and Kurigram in the northern region.
He said that in the last 24 hours, Dinajpur of Rangpur division has received 127 millimeters of rain.The meteorologist also said that after 6-7 consecutive days of rain, if heavy rains continue for 3-4 hours again, then the risk of landslides increases greatly. The amount of sand in the hills of Chittagong region is high. Therefore, there is a great possibility of landslides in this area.
