BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that everyone in the country should step with great patience and caution. The Interim Government must have come to act. They should be given the opportunity to do that. We definitely want to give reasonable time. But it is not possible without election. There must be an election. Everyone wants elections to be fair and free, everyone can vote. He said these things at a discussion meeting on the occasion of the ninth death anniversary of former prime minister and one of the founders of the Jatiya Party, Kazi Zafar Ahmed, at the Jatiya Press Club on Monday.
BNP Secretary General said that we do not want such an election, which results in the return of the previous situation. Then the people will never accept it. Waiting patiently for that, people are waiting. We believe that within that reasonable time there will be an election, a people’s government will be established.
He also said that in his address to the nation, the chief adviser said that the police state will create a situation that no one can create. We also do not want to become a police state. If they do, we will have full cooperation there.
Mirza Fakhrul said that Ansar and some people in uniform surrounded the secretariat last Sunday. They create chaos. Students foiled it. But it is ominous. The losers are now plotting again in different ways. Everyone be careful.
