The people of the country are celebrating Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims, in the mood of the festival, manifesting in the glory of devotion and sacrifice.
President Mohammad Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have congratulated the Muslims of the country and the world through separate messages on the occasion of Eid.
The main Eid congregation was held at the High Court-adjacent National Eidgah Maidan in the capital. Besides, five Eid congregations were held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The first jamat was held there at 7 am, followed by the remaining jamats at 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 11.30 pm.
To ensure safety and order during Eid celebrations, the law and order forces across the country, including Dhaka, have implemented extensive security measures.
Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar and other television channels and radio stations are broadcasting special programs on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
On this day, government hospitals, prisons, orphanages and shelters are providing high-quality food on the occasion of Eid.
It is to be noted that Eid-ul-Azha commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an expression of unwavering faith and obedience to Allah. Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated every year in honor of this deep devotion and sacrifice.9 Source UNB
