Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka Metropolitan South Amir Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul and Central Working Council member and Dhaka Metropolitan South secretary have protested and condemned the demonic and barbaric attacks of BCL terrorists in the logical movement of the anti-discrimination student society agitating for quota reform in government jobs including BCS. . Shafiqul Islam Masood.
The leaders said, ‘Government is ignoring the fair demands of students to ensure party recruitment while ignoring the meritorious. The students have demanded abolition of discriminatory quotas ensuring recruitment to government jobs including BCS on the basis of merit. In the face of student protests across the country, the government canceled the quota system in 2018 and continued the recruitment process for the past few years. But the sudden order to restore the quota by using the court amounts to cheating the students. Against which ordinary students of all educational institutions of the country have come down on the streets. But sadly true, the current illegal fascist government has unleashed the BCL terrorists to suppress that logical demand of the students. Chhatra League and external terrorists have jumped like hyenas on the brilliant students of Dhaka University, famous as the Oxford of the East.
The leaders also said, ‘We noticed with surprise that the Chhatra League attacked the protesting students of Dhaka University from last Sunday afternoon to Monday night from hall to hall with foreign terrorists brought from different parts of the country. Heinous incidents like shooting at students have been done in public. We also note with concern that the police force engaged in public security has played the role of accomplice of BCL terrorists instead of ensuring the safety of students. The university administration has not stood by the students and has favored the BCL. Apparently, it seems that the entire state apparatus has been set up as an opponent of the students. Which made the ongoing situation more critical. Already, this incident has greatly shaken the international community. The US State Department’s press briefing has expressed concern over the incident. In response to a question, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that hundreds of people were injured in yesterday’s incident. Which is very shameful for an independent sovereign state. The state of the country today is due to an illegal unelected fascist government holding power. The government has unleashed its terror gluttony to carry out vile attacks on innocent students in a continuation of its crackdown on dissent. We strongly condemn and protest this incident.
