The United States began delivering aid to Gaza through a temporary port on Saturday. The port was damaged by the storm. Meanwhile, Israel demanded the rescue of four hostages yesterday from central Gaza. However, the US military claimed that the Israeli forces did not use this temporary port to rescue them.
US Central Command said in a post on social media X (formerly Twitter) yesterday that “no equipment, personnel or resources” of the temporary port played any role in the operation to rescue the four Israeli hostages.
AFP quoted the US military as saying that humanitarian aid worth more than 2 million pounds was delivered to Gaza through the port last month.
The post also reported that Israeli forces had safely evacuated the hostages from Gaza through an area south of the temporary port. The post also said, ‘The temporary port was built to facilitate the entry of more urgent and life-saving aid into Gaza. Any other allegations are false.’
