The anti-discrimination student movement has given an ultimatum to the judges of the Appellate Division including Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan to resign by 1 pm.
Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah gave the ultimatum at 11 am on Saturday (August 10) at the High Court premises.
He said that if the judges of the Appellate Division, including Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, do not resign by 1 pm, the consequences will be like that of Sheikh Hasina. We will surround the residences of the chief justices and force them to resign. Fascism will be rooted out by removing partisan judges.
Meanwhile, the students of the High Court protested to demand the resignation of the Chief Justice and others. From 11 o’clock, students from various educational institutions started coming to the High Court with a procession.
Earlier, the protest started from 10:20 am in front of the Supreme Court bar building. Hundreds of lawyers participated in the protest. The protest procession went around the Supreme Court main building and the area of the Appellate Division.
The rally was led by the organizing secretary of Nationalist Lawyers Forum Advocate Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, Leader of Bangladesh Lawyers Council Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar and others.
