The Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has issued a statement expressing deep concern over the leakage of question papers by some BPSC officials and employees in at least 33 BCS cadre and non-cadre exams, including 33rd to 46th BCS cadre and non-cadre, and demanding that those involved be brought to justice.
In a joint statement on Monday (July 8), Central President of Chhatrashibir Manjurul Islam and Secretary General Zahidul Islam said, ‘The nation once again witnessed the worst example of irregularities, corruption, cheating and fraud in every sector of the country. BCS exam conducted by the constitutional body Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) is the place of trust of millions of talented, hard working and dream students of the country. Where everyone believed that the merit of the talented would be the highest evaluation, there was evidence of extreme cheating with the talented.
According to an investigative report by private television channel 24, at least 30 exam papers have been leaked in 33rd to 46th BCS cadre and non-cadre exams. Even on July 5, the question paper of the railway recruitment exam was leaked. In which evidence of the involvement of about six officers and employees including BPSC Deputy Director Abu Zafar and Jahangir Alam has been found.
The more terrible thing is that under this organization there is a recruitment test for 510 posts, there are many leaked questions! After that, the leaked questions were set up in booths in different places of Dhaka and the candidates were sent to take the exam by memorizing it the night before the exam. What kind of cheating with geniuses! Where there is supposed to be competition between geniuses, frauds compete with frauds! The question arises, the fight for the talented or the leaked question papers? What kind of farce is this with those who are working day and night by handing over their dreams to PSC?’
Leaders said, ‘The issue of question paper leak is not new. In every public examination of the country such despicable and despicable incidents take place. But even though the officials of the examination control authority are found to be involved in the leakage of these question papers, no remedial action is taken against them. Taking full advantage of living in the state of lawlessness, these dishonest officers and employees are continuing their activities. But the dummy government is silent on all the irregularities. When the institution responsible for finding honest, skilled and talented workers for the needs of the state is the arena of corrupt people, the evaluation of talented people is hopeless!
In a state system where the government controls and manages everything, if that government is illegitimate, then nothing under it can uphold justice. We witnessed an example of that.’
The leaders also said, ‘We have noticed another incident recently in 2018 in the face of the quota movement, the head of the government was forced to stand in the parliament and announce the cancellation of the quota system. In this, the youth of the country hopes that their talent will be truly evaluated. But we are very sorry to note that the dummy government has put a gun to the neck of the court and announced the re-introduction of the quota system. When the common students are protesting against it, the officials of the government are ignoring the protest. We feel that this is a gross deception and insulting treatment of the young talented generation.
In these incidents, the people of the country are not left to understand why the question paper leak happens and in whose interest the quota system is brought back. Mainly to prolong the illegal power, giving benefits to the party cadres and depriving the real talents and pushing them towards an uncertain future.
Therefore, we demand to the concerned authorities that these dishonest officers and employees should be brought to justice. Legal action should be taken against those who have been appointed to various posts through fraud, including cancellation of their appointment. By abolishing the quota system in government jobs, necessary measures should be taken to evaluate the meritorious and ensure the participation of the meritorious in government work. Otherwise the dummy government will have to take responsibility for any situation created.’
