On the occasion of Qurbani Eid, the first Cattle Special Train left Islampur Bazar station in Jamalpur with 400 cows.
The train left for Dhaka at around 7 pm on Wednesday (June 12).
t is known that each cow will cost 500 rupees. Cattle traders and farmers use the Bangladesh Railway Caton Service for various benefits in addition to reducing the cost of transporting cattle by train.
Railways started Cattle Special Train from 2021 due to Corona situation and low cost animal transportation.
Like every year, the first train with 400 cows in 25 wagons is scheduled to leave for Dhaka from Jamalpur’s Islampur Bazar station at around 6:30 p.m.Traders said that in addition to reducing the cost of transporting animals by train, they have chosen trains as a good opportunity to transport cattle to avoid suffering from various jams and traffic jams.
The businessman Tamez Uddin said that the cost of taking cattle to Dhaka by train is low. I am taking 16 eight thousand on rent. It has benefited us a lot.Businessman Abdul Matin said, to take cows in the truck, you have to pay a toll on the road. Truck fares are high. There is also fear of accidents. So we consider it convenient to take cows by train.
Businessman Abdul Alim said that the government has facilitated farmers and cattle traders with the train. We can take sacrificial cow without any adulteration.
According to railway sources, the fare of each wagon from Jamalpur to Dhaka has been fixed at 8 thousand taka. Each wagon can carry 16 cows. Traders are happy to take each cow to the capital at a cost of five rupees.
Station master Shahin Mia said, on the occasion of this Eid, three trains have been arranged from Jamalpur district. Cattle special train will go to Dhaka with 988 cows in 58 wagons of three trains today on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
