Awami League presidium member and former agriculture minister Abdur Razzak said, religious neutrality and non-communalism is our policy. Awami League believes that we have done no harm to anyone by using humanity and religion. BNP uses religion. Today they are on the verge of extinction. BNP talks about movement. Their movement does not go to the people. They do not get any response from the people. Soon it will be seen that their (BNP) party is fragmented. They have ceased to exist. We want a democratic country to have a strong opposition party along with the ruling party.
He said these things in his speech as the chief guest of the newly elected Upazila Parishad Chairman Yakub Ali at Madhupur in Tangail on Friday (June 21) afternoon.
Regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to India, he said – Whether Sheikh Hasina will return empty-handed or not, what they (BNP) will bring should wait. India is a very big country. We have extended our friendship with them. If they are truly friends, surely we will benefit both countries through mutual cooperation and both countries will prosper.
He also said that he will remain in power with the people’s votes and support in the future. The status of Bangladesh has risen very high in the whole world. Things are a bit expensive at the moment. The main goal of Awami League is to reduce the price of goods and bring them within the purchasing power of people.
