Adviser to Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md. Nahid Islam said that there are plans to form several reform commissions including education and media.
The adviser said this while distributing food aid to the flood victims at Bangakhan High School and Jadaiya Fazil Madrasa after visiting the flood affected areas in Bangakhan and Mandari Union of Laxmipur district headquarters on Friday afternoon.
Nahid Islam said that several reform committees have been formed as part of the state reform program. A meeting has already been held with the committee. The renovation work will start from October. The committees will formulate the framework through discussions with the concerned and experienced. Later the reformation process will be started accordingly.
He also said that the fascists will be judged on the soil of Bengal. Magisterial powers have been given to the army, hopefully the law and order situation will soon return to normal.
The advisor said, after the uprising of the students, there was a terrible flood in the country. We have seen that the people of the country have given maximum cooperation in this disaster. Students have worked shoulder to shoulder with the people and the administration, which is unprecedented. Hopefully, this trend will continue. Now we are focusing on rehabilitation activities of flood victims. He also commented that we are working to advance the rehabilitation work in a quick time
Nahid Islam also said that the water is receding and people are returning home from shelters. Water is receding late in Lakshmipur. Because the canals are occupied here. Initiatives will be taken to de-occupy those canals. Allocations have already been sent for the construction of houses for flood victims in Lakshmipur. According to that allocation, construction of houses will start very soon.
During the distribution of food aid, Deputy Commissioner of Laxmipur Rajeev Kumar Sarkar and senior officials of the local administration were present.
Later Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Majidul Haque Reza informed the adviser about the flood situation and relief distribution activities in the district city police outpost guest house.
