The Meteorological Office has predicted rain in eight parts of the country.
This was stated by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department in its regular bulletin on Tuesday (21 May) from 9 am for the next 24 hours.
It has been said that there may be temporary gusty winds or rain with thunder in many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions and in a few places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Besides, there may be scattered hail at some places.
It is also said that the day temperature may decrease by 1-2 degrees Celsius in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.
Regarding the synoptic conditions, the Meteorological Department said, the extension of low pressure is extending from West Bengal through southern Bangladesh to northwest Bay of Bengal. A low pressure is likely to develop over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas during the next 48 hours. Later it can be condensed.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius was recorded at Bagerhat’s Mongla and today’s minimum temperature of 22.3 degrees Celsius was recorded at Dinajpur.The country’s highest rainfall of 121 milliliters was recorded in Patuakhali in the last 24 hours.
