Along with the police, various organizations of law enforcement agencies are investigating the murder of Shafiqur Rahman-Farida Yasmin couple in Jatrabari of the capital. Although no clear information is available as to the cause of this sensational killing, the forces are working keeping various issues in mind. Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan South Division of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) is conducting an investigation into a full pant seized from around the scene. It is believed that there may be blood stains in the pants. However, to confirm the matter, the seized pants have been sent for forensic examination.
Officials related to the investigation of PBI say that various issues are being worked on after the incident. Although there is a gate in front of the house, the murdered couple are known as decent people in the area. However, since no evidence of theft or robbery has been found in connection with this incident, it is assumed that there is another reason for the murder. The family members are also unable to provide any clear information as to the reason for the murder. Everything that may be related to the murder is under surveillance.
PBI Superintendent of Police (Dhaka South) Mizanur Rahman Shelley told Kalbela that a pant was seized from around the scene as a suspicious sign. Blood is suspected to be present there. However, it is not yet confirmed that it belongs to the killer. If something is found after forensic examination, then something can be said for sure.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) is collecting and analyzing the CCTV footage of 2-3 kilometers around the scene of the murder. Investigating officials say that there is no CCTV camera inside the house of the deceased couple. Even in some nearby buildings, the identification of the killers has to be speeded up due to lack of CCTV footage.
DB Wari Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Ahad told Kalbela that not only DB but other law enforcement agencies are working on this murder. The reason for the murder is not yet known. Attempts are underway to identify the killers by analyzing the CCTV footage.
Shafiqur Rahman-Farida Yasmin couple were murdered in their home last Thursday morning. Police recovered the injured body of Shafiqur Rahman in the garage of the house and the injured body of Farida Yasmin in the second floor residence. After that, the family filed a case at Jatrabari police station that night. The plaintiff in the case is Abdullah Al Mamun, the only son of the deceased couple. He is working as a sub-inspector in the office of the special branch of police in Dhaka.
Abdullah Al Mamun told Kalbela that those who committed this murder must be known to them; But he does not understand who did it. He said that they have some problems with their relatives regarding the land in Daganbhuiya of Feni village. However, he does not think that such a big killing can happen due to this reason.
About the investigation of the incident, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Demra Region Assistant Commissioner Nahid Ferdous told Kalbela, “We have not been able to know the reason for this murder till now. The matter is still under investigation.
