Working people have started returning to Dhaka after the Eid holiday. However, there is not much passenger pressure on the return train-launch and bus during the Eid journey. Because of this, people are returning with much relief. Many are leaving their families and returning to Dhaka alone because of school holidays. On the other hand, many of those who could not go home before Eid are now leaving Dhaka and going to villages.
On Thursday morning, a visit to Kamalapur Railway Station, Sadarghat Launch Station, Gabtali, Sayedabad and Mohakhali bus terminals in the capital showed such images.
At the Kamalapur railway station on Thursday morning, the presence of people leaving Dhaka was more than the people returning after Eid Yatra. They are waiting to leave Dhaka for their destination. Some are busy collecting tickets again.
Lalon Hossain, an employee of a private company, came from Sirajganj. He said, I went home on Eid vacation with my family members. However, as the vacation ended early, I left the rest of the family, and will go directly to the office from here. I will return home after finishing office.
Sirajul Islam from Pabna said, I got four days off this Eid. I returned from home after the holiday. Fewer vacations tend to be rushed. It is not possible to communicate with family members. Still, due to work, it is not possible to spend a vacation as desired.
Talked to Najmus Sayadat who was going to Natore at Kamlapur railway station in Dhaka. He said that he works in a service company. There is no opportunity to give leave to everyone at once in the office. He did not get leave before this Eid because he spent last Eid. The duty of others has started from today, and those who have done duty on Eid are off. If you don’t take vacation now, you won’t get vacation later. So going to the village.
In the morning, the same situation was seen at Sadarghat Launch Ghat. People who went to the village on Eid are returning to Dhaka without any problem. There is no pressure on passengers. Those who could not go to Launch Ghat for Eid are now going to the village. Abdul Latif, an officer of a private organization, is going to Bhola. Yugantar told that someone has to be in charge during the holidays to look after the company’s factory. On each Eid, one group gets a holiday and the other group performs duties. He had a holiday last Eid, went to the village before the service Eid. And this Eid, I did my duty while others spent their holidays. Now after the Eid holiday, others have returned and those who have fulfilled their duties, are going on vacation. The mood of Eid is still there, time will be spent well if you go to the village.
Jatrabari-Syedabad, Gabtali and Mohakhali bus terminals and surrounding areas have been visited, people who left Dhaka on Eid are returning to Dhaka. But not too crowded. The presence of people who left Dhaka was also seen in these spots. The presence of people returning to Dhaka and leaving Dhaka seemed to be equal.
In Gabtali, there is not much pressure for people to return to Dhaka. A visit to the surface Gabtali bus terminal on Thursday saw long-distance buses entering Gabtali with few passengers. Aminbazar Bridge (Mountain) to Mazar Road was empty most of the time due to less traffic.
Even though the office opened after the Eid holiday, it was still busy on Thursday as well as on Wednesday. No work was done. The day passed with pleasant exchanges and discussions about who came, who didn’t, when. Some preparatory work has been done regarding the next week’s work plan, what can be done in the meeting. The presence of people in the offices was also very less.
Visiting different areas of the capital, the presence of people outside has been seen very little. The office will be closed today and tomorrow. The offices will be full from Sunday. Then the presence of people in the city will also increase. Shops, shopping malls and public areas will also be crowded.
