There has been a demand in the National Parliament to bring back money smuggled abroad and to identify those who have smuggled money and bought houses abroad. On Monday afternoon in the parliament, three members of parliament raised this demand by participating in the discussion of the cut proposal on the sanction demand in the supplementary budget of the fiscal year 2023-24.
In the supplementary budget, the allocation of 22 ministries and departments has increased by 37 thousand 817 crores. Four MPs including two Jatiya Party members and two independents proposed 66 cuts in the supplementary budget against the demand for 20 concessions. Among them, the proposed layoff of the Economic Relations Department and the Information and Communication Technology Department was discussed.
