Israel is carrying out genocide in the name of Palestinian operation in Gaza. Cuba has announced to join the case made by South Africa in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against it.
Press TV reports that Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Friday (June 21) that Cuba will officially support South Africa’s accusation of genocide against Israel. Because the Netanyahu government’s escalating attacks on civilians in Gaza show no signs of stopping.
Genocide, apartheid, forced displacement and arbitrary punishment have no place in today’s world, the statement added. The international community cannot tolerate this. The country supports as much as possible the legitimate international efforts to stop the genocide committed against the Palestinian people. Cuba therefore expresses a firm and sustained commitment to contribute to the case.
Earlier, Nicaragua, Colombia, Libya, Maldives, Egypt, Ireland, Belgium, Turkey and Chile announced their intention to participate or formally join the case against Israel.
In December 2023, South Africa filed a genocide case against Israel. South Africa’s petition says Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute genocidal behavior. They are attacking a significant portion of the Palestinian nationality, ethnic and ethnic group.
The plea presented the judges with arguments that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza; Let it be declared. In view of this, it is requested to instruct the Netanyahu government to stop the indiscriminate killing of people in Gaza.
On October 7 last year, Palestinian freedom fighters attacked Israel. About 1200 Israelis have been killed so far. Israel counterattacked killing more than 37,000 Palestinians. But in this battle, no clear victory or defeat was determined. Israel continues to invade Gaza but is unable to defeat the Palestinian freedom fighters. Because of this, the Netanyahu government is under pressure within Israel. Yet the attacks are intensifying day by day.
