Let’s unite and make it clear to everyone that nothing but democracy will work here. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that no dictatorship will get a chance, we will defeat them.
He said this at a short rally in front of the party’s central office in Nayapaltan before the start of BNP’s procession on the occasion of Revolution and Solidarity Day on Friday (November 8) afternoon.
BNP Secretary General said, November 7 is not just a day.
This day is the day to protect the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. November 7 was the day to free Bangladesh from hegemony. Before this there was a coup d’état on November 3. His aim was to re-establish hegemony in Bangladesh and establish a one-party rule.
But the patriotic soldiers again defeated them through a coup and gave Ziaur Rahman, the promulgator of independence and advocate of multi-party democracy, the responsibility of running the state. This history is the history of Bangladesh’s democracy, the history of making Bangladesh a modern state, the history of giving identity to the people of Bangladesh.
Then our today’s leader Tariq Rahman raised that flag again.’
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Bangladesh’s existence, independence, sovereignty, the people of Bangladesh have united with our leaders. This year we saw another coup, the coup of the students. For 17 long years we have fought against Awami fascism. During these 17 years, the political and economic structure of the country was systematically destroyed, turning the country into a looting state.
Sheikh Hasina and her cronies have looted this country. Many of our people have been killed in these 17 years. Many people have gone missing. False cases have been filed against 60 lakh people.’
After that, he called on the acting chairman of the party, Tariq Rahman, to inaugurate the procession of the Revolution and Solidarity Day. Around 3:30 pm, the procession started from Nayapaltan towards Manik Mia.
