Former member of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman (known number-300060) may be dismissed. He was attached to the Internal Resources Department (IRD) of the Ministry of Finance on June 23. After that 9 days passed but he did not join.
On Monday, it was found that Matiur Rahman did not come to the IRD even for a day. If you are attached as a government officer, you will not be able to do any work even if you hold regular office. For this, he has to come to the office regularly and sign the attendance sheet, but he is not doing that either. Although there is a provision for taking leave, no such application has been received by the IRD. Such activities of Matiur Rahman will be considered as misconduct, said Public Administration Expert Former Additional Secretary Feroz Miah.
He told Yugantar that what Matiur Rahman has done so far, a departmental case can be filed. And the verdict in departmental cases is minimum reprimand and maximum punishment is dismissal from service.
