Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Haznah Md Hashim said that the Malaysian government is committed to ensure the welfare of Bangladeshi workers.
He highly praised the contribution of Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia.
The High Commissioner admitted, however, that we may have syndicates here, which are beyond the control of both the Bangladesh and Malaysian governments.
He said this while talking to the members of Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) on Wednesday (May 29).
The High Commissioner said that Bangladeshi workers will be able to go to Malaysia until May 31. ‘It was fixed by our government. It was announced in January this year.’
The High Commissioner highlighted his country’s efforts to provide world-class healthcare, education and tourism facilities at low cost.
He also talked about the free trade agreement between the two countries. He said, ‘I am confident that it will happen.’
DCAB President Nurul Islam Haseeb addressed the event and thanked the High Commission for organizing the meeting.
