Two cases have been filed against 17 people, including 25 people, in connection with the killing of army officer Lt. Tanjim Charoar by robbers during a weapons recovery operation in Chakria, Cox’s Bazar.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chakaria police station Manjur Quader Bhuiyan said that the police and the army filed two separate cases as plaintiffs on Wednesday midnight.
Mentioning the names of 17 people in the two cases, 8 have been made unidentified accused, he said, ‘Senior Warrant Officer Abdullah Al Harunur Rashid of the Army’s Fansiakhali camp is the plaintiff in the case of robbery and murder, and Sub-Inspector (SI) Alamgir Hossain is the plaintiff in the Arms Act. Filed the other case.’
Manzoor Quader also said, “Two cases have been filed under separate laws by police and army personnel as plaintiffs on Wednesday midnight regarding the killing of army officer Lt. Tanjim Charwar. So far 6 accused have been arrested in the case. The operation is continuing to identify and arrest the other accused in the case.
Besides, he said, six people who were arrested by the army from Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday for their involvement in the murder have been sent to the court by the police.
