BNP like-minded parties and alliances have proposed road marches, long marches and rallies on public engagement issues including Khaleda Zia’s unconditional release, corruption, unequal agreement with India. Besides, the leaders proposed to review whether the next programs can be done simultaneously or at one stage. These proposals were made on Friday in a meeting of BNP’s liaison committee with like-minded parties and alliances at the party’s chairperson’s political office in Gulshan in the capital.
The Liaison Committee of BNP has started a meeting with the Liaison Committee of like-minded parties and alliances from Thursday to decide the program of the simultaneous movement. The party held a meeting with Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Jatiyatabadi Sammana Jot and Bangladesh Labor Party on Friday. Earlier on July 11, BNP held a separate meeting with Gano Forum (Ekangsh) and People’s Party, Democratic Left Unity, NDM. A meeting with the People’s Rights Council led by Nurul Haque Noor is scheduled to take place this afternoon.
Sources of the meeting said that the leaders of the like-minded parties have given an opinion to give this road march and long march program in the areas through which the Indian railways will run in the territory of Bangladesh. The new program is scheduled to start this month. But now no program has been finalised. In the future, there will be a meeting with other parties and alliances of the simultaneous movement.
Standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Begum Selima Rahman, Vice Chairman Mohammad Shahjahan, Abdul Awal Mintu were present on behalf of BNP in Friday’s meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Nazrul Islam Khan said, “We have discussed the next program.” And after these meetings, within two to three days, we will announce the next program by sitting with the top leaders of these parties and alliances. A one-party movement to restore democracy in this country, basically we are in that movement.
In the meeting, the chairman of the NPP on behalf of the nationalist like-minded alliance. Fariduzzaman Farhad, President of Jagpa Khandkar Lutfar Rahman, Ganadal Chairman ATM Golam Mawla Chowdhury, Bangladesh Nap Chairman MN Shaon Sadeki, National Democratic Party Chairman Qari Md. Abu Taher, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Comrade Dr. Syed Nurul Islam, NPP Secretary General Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, NDP Secretary General Abdullah Al Harun Sohail, Jagpa General Secretary SM Shahadat Hossain were present. In a meeting with LDP, Presidium member Nurul Alam Talukder, Dr. Neyamul Bashir, Dr. Aurangzeb Belal, member of the Advisory Council Principal Mahbubur Rahman, Joint Secretary General Billal Hossain were present.
Bangladesh Labor Party Chairman Dr. The party’s Vice Chairman SM Yusuf Ali, Hindu Ratna Ramakrishna Saha, Jahura Khatun Jui and General Secretary Khandaker Mirazul Islam were present in the meeting led by Mustafizur Rahman Irani.
