BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that there is no joy or happiness in people’s hearts during the joyous Eid. People’s happiness has been taken away by this robber government. There is no food in people’s homes. The upper middle class and the middle class are now economically cornered, they too have lost the ability to sacrifice. There are few buyers in the Qurbani animal market, who are mostly government party looters, owners of illegal money.
He said these things in a press conference at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Sunday.
Rizvi said that there is an extremely chaotic situation in every aspect of the country. Starting from the stock market to the raw market of the neighborhood, the common people are helpless under the influence of syndicates in every sector. A kg of beef is 800 taka in the unbridled commodity market, spices used in the preparation of food on Eid, such as cardamom 4000 taka, cloves 2000 taka, cinnamon 600 taka, bay leaves 300 taka. Sitting on top of a volcano. Cucumber 120 taka per kg, raw chili 260 taka, bitter gourd 70 taka per kg, that is, not only fish meat but also vegetables and fruits are receiving thousands of volts of electricity. Almost all banks in the country are now bankrupt.
Not only the dollar crisis, but the cash crisis in banks has become more and more acute. Even during Eid, customers are not able to withdraw 5000 taka in cash on demand. Traders are unable to open LCs due to dollar crisis. Students cannot go abroad for higher education.
He said that banks have been made unsafe. Hundreds of gold coins of customers are disappearing from the ‘locker’ of the bank. Even Bangladesh Banker Vault is not safe for customers now. Extreme disappointment in export trade. Trade disparity with various countries is increasing. At present, the country is completely dependent on imports. Burdened by domestic and foreign debt. This is the financial situation of the country. Martyred President Ziaur Rahman ’74, the hero of freedom, success, prosperity and democracy, started exporting rice and sugar abroad by making the famine-stricken Bangladesh economically independent. Bangladesh became the emerging tiger of Asia during the government of the countrywoman Begum Khaleda Zia. Bangladesh is currently in a severe economic crisis due to the corruption and looting of Sheikh Hasina and her mafia gang. There is extreme anarchy in the social and economic sphere of the country. To handle the situation, the mafia government is now traveling around different countries with alms bags.
This BNP spokesperson said, the slogan ‘Desh Aaj Biswa Behayar Khappare’ written in the context of the anti-dictatorship movement of the 90s grabbed the attention of the democracy-loving people. In the current context that slogan has become even more relevant; Besides ‘the country is now in the grip of a servant of shameless servant’. Why did I say this? Because the people lost their democracy, human rights and voting rights due to the illegal power loss, and today they are subjugated and imprisoned in their own country. Unprotected country borders. Saint Martin is almost blocked. Citizens of Bangladesh do not feel safe to go there. What Myanmar has been doing for the past few days around Saint Martin is the ultimate threat to the country’s sovereignty.
He said that extreme unrest has been going on in Bangladesh-Myanmar border for a long time. Heavy illegal weapons are entering Bangladesh through the Myanmar border. The junta forces of war-torn Myanmar are often entering Bangladesh. Sending back to Myanmar again. However, even in the last 7/8 years, not even one of the Rohingya people who were forcibly pushed from Myanmar to Bangladesh has been sent back to Myanmar. Why not possible? Is Bangladesh protecting the interests of any country? So whose interests are being protected? People have the right to know what policy Bangladesh is adopting in relation to Myanmar.
Rizvi said that the citizens of Bangladesh are not safe at any border today. India has borders with seven countries including Bangladesh. Bangladeshi citizens are often losing their lives in BSF firing on the border of Bangladesh, even though they do not dare to shoot and kill people on the border of any other country. On June 9, one person was killed in BSF firing on the Comilla border. In this way, the Awami government has lost the courage and freedom to protest the border killings of Bangladesh due to its knee-jerk foreign policy and submissive mentality with India. Today the border of Bangladesh is insecure. Endangered freedom and sovereignty. But the dictatorial government of Sheikh Hasina is silent.
He said, the Acting Chairman of BNP, Tariq Rahman, asked in a virtual speech on Saturday, why is the army not being deployed across the border even though the anti-sovereignty activities are going on? He called for immediate deployment of troops across the border.
Rizvi said that many leaders and workers of pro-democracy political parties including BNP have been victims of disappearances and abductions while campaigning for the establishment of democracy, human rights and voting rights. Lakhs of leaders and activists across the country are constantly being harassed due to false or missing cases. Many are homeless for months. Still, BNP did not leave the streets. Pro-democracy political parties have not left the streets.
He said that the responsibility of freeing the country from the grip of mafia is not BNP or any single political party. In order to recover the country from the grip of the mafia circle, people of every class and profession have to overcome fear and come out of their homes. He who knows must express with courage.
He also said that during the anti-quota movement in 2018, Sheikh Hasina had promised to withdraw the quota. Now again the quota system has been reinstated. This is clearly cheating the students. This government is cheating the people again and again as a fraud. ‘Quota’ can never be a substitute for merit. Acting Chairman of BNP said that the demand of students regarding job quota is certainly fair and logical. If the BNP forms the government according to the people’s verdict, it will surely implement any logical and fair demands of the students and youth. At the same time, the state must consider the issue of disabled people seriously. If we are united, firm in our decisions, soon a government accountable to the people will be formed through free fair and impartial elections under an impartial government. God willing
Rizvi said that the country’s politics, economy, justice, morals, religious and social values have been totally degraded. There is no time to sit down in such a four-pronged crisis of the country. Mother of Democracy Begum Khaleda Zia said, in their hands the chain of slaves is in our hands the flag of freedom. Tabeda has no choice but to save the country from evil forces if he wants to protect the dignity of the flag of freedom. Otherwise, the day is not too late, when we may have to accept the fate of the Palestinians in the homeland. Today, the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh is in danger due to the tyranny of the Lendup government chief. The freedom fighters liberated Bangladesh at the cost of millions of lives. The liberation war of 1971 was to achieve the independence of the country. And this liberation war is to protect the freedom of the country and the people. Therefore, call on the pro-democracy forces, pro-Bangladesh forces, join the ongoing struggle of the movement to protect the country’s independence. Motherland is in crisis today. There will be no freedom for the country and the people if we cannot stand against the mafia created under the auspices of the dummy government. Do we want Abrar of Buet or Ashraful-Asadul of Faridpur Madhukhali helpless-cruel death? don’t want So, let us once again prepare to make extreme sacrifices like the freedom fighters of ’71 in the movement to protect the freedom of the motherland. Raise slogans, my rights are my country-take back Bangladesh.
