BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition has deteriorated. There has been no improvement in his physical condition since he was admitted to the capital’s Evercare Hospital on July 8. A doctor said his condition was ‘critical’.
Six days after he was taken home with a heart pacemaker, he was admitted to the hospital again on an emergency basis four days ago. He is undergoing treatment in the ICU cabin of the hospital.
It is known that Begum Zia’s physical condition has not improved in the last four days. His heart, liver and other physical parameters are quite abnormal. The medical board doctors continued to treat him in various ways. BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam told Naya Digant that Begum Zia’s physical condition is deteriorating. Every time he has to be rushed to the hospital, it is very worrying. After being admitted to the hospital, his condition is more serious.
A doctor of the medical board said that Begum Zia is not getting proper treatment in the country. Due to which he is getting sick again and again. Earlier, after undergoing a procedure to solve the problem of liver cirrhosis under foreign doctors, she was healthy for several days. But now he is getting sick frequently. His condition is not good. Every physical parameter is deteriorating. Another doctor said last night that Begum Zia’s liver complications have increased.
After being admitted to the hospital on July 8, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Khaleda Zia’s life is under threat. The government is detaining and pushing him to death out of deliberate political vendetta. A medical board under the supervision of cardiologist Professor Shahabuddin Talukdar of Evercare Hospital is treating him.
Incidentally, the 79-year-old former prime minister is suffering from various complications including heart disease, lung, liver, kidney, arthritis, diabetes.
Begum Khaleda Zia was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) by ambulance when she suddenly fell ill at her home in Gulshan on June 22. A pacemaker was implanted in his heart the next day. After staying in the CCU for two days, the medical board kept him in the cabin for a few days with all the facilities of the CCU. Then on July 2, the BNP chairperson returned to Feroza, Gulshan’s home from Evercare Hospital.
Earlier, in October last year, three liver specialists were brought from the United States to operate on his liver.
The medical board has repeatedly recommended to send Begum Zia abroad for better treatment, but the government is not giving that opportunity. The government is talking about legal obligations in this regard.
