Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami wants to build a new Bangladesh based on justice without division and discrimination, said Maulana Abdul Halim, assistant secretary general of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

On Friday (November 15), he met the family of Asadul Haque Babu, who was martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement in Dhaka and a resident of Biral, Dinajpur, prayed for his new-born daughter and spoke as the chief guest in two separate meetings of the Shura at the District Majlis at the Jamaat office in Dinajpur.

Abdul Halim said, ‘Those who did not allow people to vote in the three national elections, the defeated forces have lost the right to participate in the national elections. The authoritarian party Awami League has been in power for 15 and a half years and has killed 11 top leaders of Jamaat in the name of justice by hanging them and imprisoning them in false and fabricated cases.

He also said, ‘The duty of Jamaat-e-Islami is not a matter of joy and duty does not actually distribute sweets. Rather, the weight of the responsibility brings tears to the eyes. Jamaat-e-Islami’s distinctive feature of responsible elections is here. With Allah as witness, he urged everyone to fulfill their responsibilities with a sense of accountability. All the officials should discharge their responsibilities through mutual cordial and cooperative relationship. In the current context, electoral and organizational work should be carried out equally.
