Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) president journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi’s funeral was held at the Press Club.
His funeral was held on Wednesday at 1:50 PM at the National Press Club Auditorium. Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami led the funeral. Shafiqur Rahman.
Nahid Islam, Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat Islam Dr. also participated in the funeral. Shafiqur Rahman, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Member Secretary of My Bangladesh Party (AB Party) Mojibur Rahman Manju and other party leaders and activists.
Besides, leaders of journalists’ organization Press Club, DRU, DUJ, BFUJ and various media personalities participated.
Rahul Amin Gazi’s son Adnan Abrar said before the funeral, ‘He always tried to speak the truth. He always said that he would work for the country and the people of the country. I saw father yesterday and suffered a lot. My father will never call me again. You will forgive my father.’
Adviser Nahid Islam said, ‘Ruhul Amin Ghazi was a famous journalist of Bangladesh. He always spoke for the country. We express our deepest condolences on behalf of the interim government. He has always fought for the media against fascism. He was the victim of Kara. We will free the media from fascism.
Secretary General of the Jamaat Professor Mia Golam Parwar said, ‘Ruhul Amin Ghazi is a brave journalist. He has been imprisoned for a long time. We pray for his soul to rest in peace. He worked for the country, for the nation. Always spoke for the people of the country. The nation will remember him for the rest of his life.’
Member of the BNP standing committee. Zahid said, ‘The number of good people is decreasing day by day. Jannatul Ferdous nasib to the great Rabbul Alamin Ruhul Amin Ghazi bhai. Amen.’
Poet Abdul Hai Shikdar said, ‘Ruhul Amin Ghazi was a very good person. We pray for the forgiveness of his soul.’
It is to be noted that after the funeral, Ruhul Amin Gazi’s body is being taken to Chandpur for burial in the family graveyard.
