Israel carried out the worst airstrikes in Lebanon in the last one year. The attack targeted fighters of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
The attack was carried out in southern Lebanon on Thursday (September 19) after wireless communication devices such as pagers and radios exploded.
The Israeli military said the operation was carried out late Thursday night. During this time, their warplanes hit hundreds of multiple rocket-launcher barrels in southern Lebanon for more than two hours. The IDF claimed that the rockets would have been fired at Israel within moments.
Lebanon’s state news agency NNA reported more than 52 attacks in southern Lebanon after 9pm on Thursday.
Three Lebanese security sources said it was the biggest airstrike since the conflict began in October last year. However, no casualty was immediately reported.
