The Israeli military raided Al Jazeera’s offices in Ramallah in the occupied Palestinian West Bank. They asked the press to be closed for 45 days. Armed and masked Israeli soldiers entered the building early Sunday morning during a live broadcast. However, nothing has been informed about the reason why the office has been asked to be closed.
The soldiers handed over the shutdown order to the television’s West Bank bureau chief, Walid al-Omari. At that time, the audience saw the scene broadcast live on television.
In this regard, Walid Al-Omari said, by targeting journalists in this way, an attempt has been made to erase the truth and prevent people from hearing the truth.
Israel raided Al Jazeera offices in Nazareth and East Jerusalem in May and shut down the broadcaster in the country, describing the Qatar-based broadcaster as a threat to national security.
