“While I am MP, no corruption, terrorism, extortion and usurpation will be allowed in Faridpur. I got the news that for 50 years there were about 20 shops of madrasas in government premises. Before the upazila elections, the administration demolished the madrassa shops. Asiland leased the place to other people with the help of the administration. I came to Eidgah on Sunday evening to pray Maghrib. I saw it on the ground. After that, the madrasa students and teachers demolished the area occupied by the local residents.
Faridpur-4 Constituency MP and Jubo League Presidium member Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon said these things in front of the Eidgah Madrasa Mosque of Bhanga Upazila on Sunday evening.
He said that before the upazila elections, there were about 20 shops of madrasas on government land in front of mosques and madrasas. Madrasah teachers and orphans were provided with food and medical expenses from these shops. But with the help of the administration people, the local people took possession of the DCR in exchange of huge amount of money. Complaints are coming to me.
MP Nixon Chowdhury said, you journalists know that earlier in Kathpatti more than a hundred shops were allotted by Mr. Aceland with crores of rupees. I received the news and resisted it with the people of the area.
Several calls were made to Bhanga Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mishkatul Jannat Rabeya’s mobile phone to inquire about the complaint. He did not receive.
