BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that ‘we will build the rainbow nation of our desire with people of all religions and ideologies’.
He exchanged views with people of different communities including Hindus, Buddhists, Christians at the political office of BNP Chairperson in Gulshan on Friday afternoon. Mirza Fakhrul said this in a briefing with journalists after the exchange of views.
Mirza Fakhrul said, I am optimistic, some number of terrorists, not any party. No matter how hard they try, they will not be able to destroy the bond of harmony and goodwill of this country. This time it has been proved that the harmony could not be destroyed despite many efforts. We will build the rainbow nation of our desire with people of all religions and beliefs.
He said, “We made the country independent with the spirit of the 1971 liberation war by pointing out that other religious people consider it as their own problem, let’s rekindle that spirit through the 24-year uprising.” Let’s build a democratic country together.
Rana Das Gupta, General Secretary of Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Unity Council said, “In the present fatigue of Bangladesh, we have highlighted the depraved situation of the country. We want peace, we want relief, we want to live. We want to present our words to those who are running the state of this country democratically through various parties. We want to work unitedly to build a democratic and non-communal country of the dream with which the liberation war was fought in Bangladesh.
Santosh Sharma, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Puja Celebration Parishad and Editor of Daily Kalbela, said, “We have raised the demand, the Secretary General has assured that BNP will consider it positively if the party comes to power.” We will forget everything from the past and work together.
