Human chain in London demanding the return of voting rights to Bangladesh

 Human rights organization Universal Voice for Human Rights and Stand for Bangladesh, Online Activist Forum UK jointly organized a human chain on July 8, 2024 at Altab Ali Park in East London to protect the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh and to restore voting rights.
Under the chairmanship of Zaker Ahmad Chowdhury, President of Universal Voice for Human Rights, and Aminul Islam Mukul, General Secretary of Stand for Bangladesh and Delwar Hossain, Vice President of Online Activist Forum UK, the chief guest spoke at the event. 
Distinguished writer, columnist Pinaki Bhattacharya, Amar Desh executive editor Aliullah Noman, Universal Voice for Human Rights adviser Abdullah Al Munim, community leader Syed Jamal Hossain, Sunamganj district BNP former vice president Ashikur Rahman Ashiq, Universal Voice for Human Rights spoke as special guests. Speakers at the event said that the non-voting dummy government of Bangladesh wants to give the corridor unilaterally in the name of transit agreement with India without considering the opinion of the people which is a threat to the independence and sovereignty of the country. Expatriates have taken to the streets against the conspiracy. This agreement must be terminated immediately. People’s right to vote and freedom of speech should be returned. Only the government elected by people’s vote can enter into compromises or agreements with other countries with the opinion of the people keeping the interests of the country in mind. The speakers called upon all the organizations and patriotic people of the country and abroad to build a united movement to protect the sovereignty and voting rights of Bangladesh.
