The US wanted to connect Gaza with Israel by building a floating port. Mahmoud Al Habbash, a senior official of the Palestinian Authority, made such comments on Thursday (June 6).
Habbash said the US-built humanitarian port in Gaza is part of a secret plot, the Jerusalem Post reported. Through this they wanted to connect Gaza with Israel. Also wanted to displace Gazans.
Habbash serves as an adviser on religious and Islamic affairs to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. He is also chairman of the Palestinian Authority and the Supreme Council for Sharia Justice.
He also said that the floating port is an attempt to put dust in our eyes. This is an attempt to place the situation in the Gaza Strip under Israeli rule and Israeli sovereignty.’
He said, ‘What we fear is that this floating port will play a role in the implementation of the Israeli plot. Through this, efforts will be made to evict the residents of the Gaza Strip through various ports.’
