sraeli forces have killed at least 210 Palestinians in a massive attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. At this time, the Israeli military rescued four prisoners. After several weeks of planning, the attack was carried out and they were rescued.
More than four hundred were injured in this attack.
While the attack brought relief to the Israelis, it created more suffering for the Palestinians.
Dubbed ‘Seeds of Summer’, the attack was unusually carried out in broad daylight. Israel’s defense forces have surprised the opponent more.Roads are usually busy during mid-morning. People are busy shopping in nearby shops. Not only was it risky for the Israeli special forces to enter the area, it was especially risky to get out.
A special forces officer died of his injuries in hospital, Israeli police said.
Referring to Israel’s rescue of 100 prisoners from Uganda in 1976, the IDF’s chief spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said, ‘It was a similar operation to the one in Entebbe.’
He said that special commandos simultaneously attacked two residential apartments in Nusirat camp where the prisoners are kept.
In one apartment was Noah Argamani, a 26-year-old inmate. In the other were 41-year-old Slomi Ziv, 27-year-old Andrey Kozlov and 22-year-old Alamg Mir Zen.
Mobile phone videos from the scene showed people ducking for cover after hearing the sound of missile whistles and gunfire.
Later footage shows bodies strewn across the street.
This operation obviously involved a large force. Doctors at two hospitals in central Gaza said they counted more than 70 bodies.
Nora Abu Khamis, who took refuge in Nusira, burst into tears and said, ‘I have collected the body parts of my child, my dear child. Another child of mine is on the verge of life and death. Even my husband and mother in law my whole family is destroyed. It’s a massacre.’
Ariz Al Jadneh, 10, said there were airstrikes, tanks and shelling. “We couldn’t breathe,” he said. My sister Rimaj was hit by shrapnel on her head and my five-year-old sister Yara was also injured by shrapnel.’
Ziad, a 45-year-old paramedic who witnessed the Israeli attack, said: ‘It’s like a horror movie, but it was a real massacre. Israeli drones and warplanes fired indiscriminately throughout the night targeting people’s homes and those who tried to flee the area.’
He said that Israel killed more than two hundred innocent civilians to free the four.
