Due to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, the Meteorological Office has announced heavy rain and thundershowers for the next three days from today Wednesday across the country. Apart from this, seaports have been asked to display three local warning signals.
The agency has given this information in the forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 am on Wednesday (September 25).
According to the forecast, a low pressure is present over West-Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal. The extension of monsoon axis extends over Madhya Pradesh, Odisha low pressure center and Bangladesh to Assam. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay of Bengal.
It will result in light to moderate rains with temporary gusty winds over most of the eight divisions of the country and heavy to very heavy rains at some places. This rain will continue till next Friday. But it will not reduce completely, there may be heavy rainfall in some places.
The sea has become rough along with gale force winds in the coastal areas. At this time, seaports have been asked to show local warning signal number three and river ports have been asked to show warning signal number one.
On Thursday (September 26) light to moderate rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder may occur in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till 9 am. Along with that, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.
And during this time the day temperature may decrease by 2 to 5 degrees and the night temperature may decrease by 1 to 2 degrees across the country.
Light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thundershowers may occur in most parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions and most parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till 9 am on Friday (September 27).
Along with that, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country during this time.
However, the Meteorological Office also said that the trend of rain will decrease in the next five days
