The Meteorological Department has predicted light to heavy rain or thundershowers across the country. Moderate to very heavy rain may occur in most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions for the next 24 hours from 9 am today.
On Tuesday morning, the Meteorological Office said that many places in Dhaka, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and some places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may experience light to moderate rain/thunder with gusty winds temporarily. Along with this, there may be moderate to very heavy rainfall at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Sylhet recorded the country’s highest rainfall of 153 mm in 24 hours till 6 am on Tuesday.
Besides, a mild heat wave is flowing over Patuakhali, Bhola, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi and Pabna districts along with Khulna division and it may continue, according to the forecast.
Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. However, discomfort may persist due to excess water vapor.
An extension of low pressure extends from West Bengal to Northwest Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere in northern Bay of Bengal.
