Health Minister visited the emergency hospital on the day of Eid. Samant Lal Sen. On Monday morning, the Health Minister made a surprise visit to Old Dhaka’s Mitford Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
The health minister said that this visit is to ensure that emergency healthcare is not disrupted in various hospitals of Bangladesh during the Eid holidays and that the doctors, nurses and other employees on duty do not face food or any other problems and can provide services uninterruptedly during the Eid holidays.
At 10:30 AM, Samant Lal Sen first visited Mitford Hospital. During this time, he visited the emergency unit, ICU, surgery ward, hospital kitchen. He interacts with the patients, their relatives and doctors on duty and inquires about the treatment.
Later he went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He talked to the patients and doctors who came to the emergency department. He visited several wards including Gynecology, Surgery Ward and exchanged Eid greetings with the patients and doctors. Also, Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
After the inspection, Health Minister Samant Lal Sen told reporters that there are fewer doctors in the hospital during the Eid holidays. Therefore, guidelines have been issued across the country to ensure that emergency healthcare is not disrupted and patients receive services during this holiday period.
He said, Eid day is not a scheduled visit; Visiting the hospital to encourage patients and doctors, nurses, ward boys engaged in medical care. Cut injury patients are more common in the emergency ward. This injury is while cutting meat. That’s why he requested everyone to cut meat carefully.
