Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the anti-discrimination movement shared two photos of Naheed’s inhuman torture on the social media Facebook, reminding him of his contribution in the July revolution.
In the caption of the post given around 10 am on Wednesday (November 13), Hasnat wrote, ‘The picture of Bangladesh was like this in the last 16 years. Those who are helping to rehabilitate Hasina want to take the country back to its old state of bloodshed, forced disappearances and murders. Supporting the rehabilitation of the Hasina regime will ultimately lead to the same disastrous consequences.’
In the post, he also wrote, ‘Anti-fascist Bangladesh is Nahid. We are Nahid. July 136, 2024.’
Meanwhile, Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators and general secretary of Juli Shaheed Smriti Foundation, commented that there is no use in intimidating the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement on the same issue.
In a post on Facebook on Wednesday, he said, Nahid, Asif came down to the streets ready to give their lives. Brutal torture by DGFI, DB, nothing could shake them.
Hasnat said 3 months ago ‘we are open to be killed’. Mahin Sarkar, Abu Bakr Majumdar, Rifat Rashid, Hannan Masud are not useful. The fear of Sheikh Hasina’s entire regime could not divert them from their goal.
He also wrote, I understand that Jagannath University’s slogan was about their previous corrupt system. There is no problem with the fact that there can be pride among comrades. We believe that the street fight for justice will strengthen our unity again in minutes. Whenever there is a crisis, these comrades of mine have come running for miles.
