The President has appointed four judges working in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court as judges of the Appellate Division. Sahabuddin The Ministry of Law issued a notification in this regard on Monday night.
According to sources in the office of the Registrar General of the Supreme Court, the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed judges will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday morning.
The four judges appointed in the Appellate Division are Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury, Justice Syed Mohammad Ziaul Karim, Justice Md. Rezaul Haque and Justice SM Emdadul Haque.
According to the notification, the President has appointed four judges working in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court as Judges of the Appellate Division from the date of their swearing-in by virtue of Article 95(1) of the Constitution. The notification states that this appointment will be effective from the day of taking oath.
With the effective appointment of four judges, the number of judges in the Appellate Division will stand at six.
